At the last meeting of the CIAT Permanent Committee on Ethics, sponsored by the Canada Revenue Agency with the participation of 16 member and nonmember countries of the Center, the creation of a Newsletter was approved for disseminating not only products, agreements and achievements of the Committee, but also good or bad practices, news and innovations on this long-standing issue, which given the current world circumstances has acquired current importance for negative and sad reasons rather than for commendable and positive results.

 

This issue will mainly disseminate the first three documents of our Series on Ethics which were approved at the aforementioned meeting and whose objective is to make known in a brief and professional manner, the fundamental and strategic issues to be considered with respect to specific matters.  It is thus that values, training in ethics for managers and risk management are discussed in a fluid, specific and structured manner, allowing the reader the opportunity to see their practical application, through specific related examples.

 

Our newsletter also includes current news of interest to managers and, in general, to tax administration officials, our main target audience.

 

This informative tool is another step forward in the efforts CIAT has been devoting to ethics for over 15 years and it will definitely not be the last one.
